Sand bags are made from either durable woven polypropylene or environmentally friendly hessian. They are compact for easy storage and transportation making them versatile.
Sand bags are ideal for minimising the damage of rising water during severe weather events
When using sand bags it is important to ensure the bag ends are overlapped to prevent water entry. To stop the spread of bacteria, bags should be disposed of properly once the flood water has subsided.
Sand bags are also a great solution for erosion control and earthbag building as the bags are easy to manoeuvre once filled.
